More Jobs, Less Pollution: Growing the Recycling Economy in the U.S.

This BGA Recycling Report [almost two years in the making], that NRDC helped finance and substantially edit, will be the subject of our BGA/NRDC press conferences on Nov 15th in DC, NY, LA, Cleveland, SF. Senator Carper and Rep Pallone (Co-Chair of Recycling Caucus) will host the DC event, which will take place on the Hill. Short story: We estimate 2.3- 2.8 million new jobs if we achieve a 75% national recycling rate [we are at about 32% now], and Producer Responsibility laws and deposits are the way to get there.
